A professor with Brazilian University of Sao Paulo completed an experiment of determining the age of zircon with the help of China-developed Internet remote control technology, which enabled him to control the large equipment located in a Beijing-based ion probe laboratory. In the past, the professor had to come to Beijing from afar to do such an experiment. It is learned that through ion probe remote control system controlling large ion microprobe mass spectrometer or similar apparatus via Internet has been realized for the first time. The technology is the first of its kind in the world. |
