Shanghai Business School Sets to Become "One of the Best" In World

The Shanghai-based China-Europe International Business School (CEIBS), has set to become one of the best business schools in the world in the next ten years. Prof. Pedro Nueno, chairman of the school's Academic Council, made the remark in an interview with Xinhua on the occasion marking the 10th founding anniversary of the school Monday. CEIBS, which jumped to the 20th on the list of world's best Executive MBA programs according to the latest ranking made by the Financial Times, has vowed to rank among the world's top ten in the next decade, earlier report quoted Prof. Liu Ji, president of CEIBS, as saying. CEIBS will continue its development strategy to provide best China-oriented management education against backdrop of the global environment through optimum creation and imparting of knowledge, Pedro Nueno said. CEIBS was founded in Shanghai on Nov. 8, 1994 in accordance with an agreement signed between the Chinese government and the European Union. Its goal was to meet the need for high-level management education in China, as a way of supporting the country's economic, social and administrative reforms and further integration into the world economy. More than 1,100 MBAs and over 2,800 EMBAs have graduated from the school, which has also provided short-term training of 35,000 people over the past ten years. CEIBS, the first to open special training courses targeting senior managers in China, has developed into the largest business school in China, training business people for transnational corporations, private companies and state-owned enterprises. |
