Nepal to Host China Education Exhibition

A two-day China Education Exhibition will be held on April 2-3 in Kathmandu in a bid to provide information for the Nepalese students willing to study in China.

The exhibition is organized jointly by the China Scholarship Council under the Chinese Education Ministry, the Chinese Embassy to Nepal and Arniko Society of Nepal, a Sino-Nepal friendship organization.

As many as 23 universities from various parts of China, including the world-famous Beijing University, Fudan University and Tongji University, will participate in the exhibition, Lava Komar Thapa, president of Arniko Society told Xinhua Wednesday.

The aim of the exhibition is to facilitate the education institution and prospective student in Nepal to get first-hand information about the Chinese education system and individual universities in China.

This exhibition will offer the Nepalese students an important opportunity to consult with China's universities and help them develop direct contacts with the universities. Interested Nepalese students can apply for admission for the summer 2005 session directly at the exhibition.

About 2,500-3,000 Nepalese students are studying in different subjects such as medicine, engineering, tourism and business administration in China at present. The Chinese government makes available scholarship to 100 Nepalese students every year.
