Beijing, the national capital, has got everything ready for the coming Beijing International Hi- tech Week, due to start May 10.
The seven-day event will be turned into an international exposition on the development of hi-tech industries, according to Zhang Mao, deputy mayor of Beijing and vice chairman of the preparatory committee and secretary-general of the show.
The city has pinned high hopes on the exhibition on the eve of China's coming entry into the World Trade Organization (WTO), Zhang noted.
Currently, 68 foreign government and company delegations from over 50 countries and regions have registered to participate in the week-long show. The total number of overseas participants is expected to exceed 1,300.
Furthermore, more than 5,000 local government officials and businesspeople will join in the exhibition. |
