Cisco Systems, worldwide leader in networking for the Internet, successfully demonstrated broadband, CDMA1X wireless solution in China. This solution provides the critical IP connectivity that are necessary to enable broadband wireless applications and services. The demonstration, by China Unicom in Shanghai on October XX, proved the technology and commercial readiness, and that Chinese telecommunications companies will soon be able deliv In addition, Cisco provided wireless data solutions for the successful Beijing trial conducted by China Unicom last week at PT Wireless & Networks Comm China 2001, reinforcing Cisco's key role in the development of cutting-edge wireless technologies in China. Mr. Hanh Tu, Director of Service Provider Operations for Cisco China said, "Cisco is the leader in IP solutions that will allow broadband wireless networks to interface with fixed line broadband networks. We are utilizing our expertise in IP networking, connectivity and network optimization to make it possible for wireless service providers to link their networks with the Internet and all its possibilities, thereby converging service creation, operations and management CDMA1X is a critical first step. CDMA 1X technology is capable of increasing the speed of data transmission to 144Kb/s, tenfold that of CDMA One, and enables a smooth transition to 3G systems. The Cisco CDMA 1X solution is based on Cisco's industry-proven high-end routers, supported by the rich features of Cisco IOS software and the high quality, reliability, and scalability offered by Cisco PDSN (Packet Data Serving Node). The solution not only meets the requirements of Internet applications, but also provides more standard physical and logical protocol interfaces for interoperability. Cisco's solution will allow operators to add more differentiated and value-added services in an innovative way, enabling them subsequently to compete for greater r |
