Green Will Disappear Without Water. by Zhang Tianlun
All We Want Is a Small Beautiful Islet. by Zhao Yanping
Flowers Bloom Only When Watered. by Meng Lingyi
The Old and the New. by Li Ruirui

The photos published here were all taken by pupils from primary and middle schools in Beijing's Xicheng District, not by professional photographers. Environmental protection has become a worldwide issue, and these children have shown their awareness of it by photographing the environment around them.

These children have their own angle of vision and ways of expression. Their works, with water as the theme, cover a great variety: water taps, flowers, birds, trees, and rivers. The children may be immature in photographic technique, but through these works, one can sense their attitude toward environmental protection. Only when one is aware of environmental protection, will one act to protect the environment.

The world also belongs to children. Protecting the environment needs not only the efforts of adults but also the popularization of environmental protection among the children now in school.
