First Chinese Medicine Building Opens in HK

  The Jockey Club School of  Chinese Medicine Building of Hong Kong Baptist University, the first purpose-built construction for the discipline, was inaugurated Friday, a milestone in Hong Kong's development in Chinese medicine.

   The nine-story state-of-the-art headquarters of the School of Chinese Medicine has a floor area of 8,500 square meters.

   Its facilities include a well-equipped lecture theater and classrooms, advanced teaching and research laboratories, a modern and computerized clinic, a gallery as well as the first and only library on Chinese medicine.

   The specialty clinic inside the building comprises 10 consultation rooms, two private treatment rooms with a dozen
treatment beds, one herb storage room with constant temperature and humidity control and a modernized herbal brewing room.

   The clinic has adopted a computerized management system of patients' records, and pharmacy and herbal storage.
