At present, BJTU has ten schools, five state key disciplines, 71 graduate programs, 28 doctoral programs and 8 post-Doctoral scientific research stations. The university currently has over 2500 faculty and staff and nearly 19,000 full-time students including about 3,800 graduate students and 100 overseas students. Besides, there are also more than 8,000 part-time and correspondence students.

We are now looking for academic leaders to make contributions to the college expansion and development and disciplinary establishment.

II. Qualifications

1. Enthusiasm for the higher education in China, strong sense of responsibilities, capability of innovation and dedication, candid personality

2. Higher cultivation in academy, significant achievements in scientific research acknowledged at home and abroad, academic reputation in the disciplines.

3. Doctor’s degree; professor or other technical titles for domestic applicants; assistant professor or above for foreign applicants. Academicians, Yangtze River Scholars, winners of state-level awarding projects, experts with experience in leading 863, 973 or key projects of National Fund for Natural Sciences preferred.

4. Healthy, 45 years old or younger for disciplines of natural sciences, 50 years old or younger for disciplines of humanities and social sciences, age requirements negotiable for talents in short supply or with outstanding performance.

III. Responsibilities

Steer the direction of disciplinary development and lead the school to exceed or keep abreast of the advanced level in the country; actively bid for and host the national key projects of scientific research to cater for the strategic demands at home and towards the frontline of science and technology in the world; initiate original researches into key theories, practical problems and other fields for significant achievements; lead the hierarchical construction of academic teams to embark on the teaching and research according to the disciplinary features and requirements.

IV. Accommodations

1. freely choose to participate in the unified housing purchase organized by the university or independently purchase the house with housing subsidy of RMB 500,000-700,000.

2. enjoy the related accommodation for invited professors with annual salary, position allowance and others totaling RMB100,000-150,000 every year.

3. cozy working environment, preferential support for setting up laboratories according to the requirements of disciplinary establishment and projects of scientific research, as well as equipments and funds for research in laboratories.
