After the Forum, the delegation visited the Satellite Remote Sensing Receiving Station at CUHK. The Station is a an important facility of the University’s Institute of Space and Earth Information Science. By capturing and processing satellite-sourced remote sensing data, the Station will be able to monitor the environment and natural disasters including landslides, earthquakes, tsunamis and floods, and thereby reducing the risk of civilian casualties and economic loss. |
