With the process of building the country according to law and the development of various economic and social undertakings, the national plan for disseminating knowledge of the law to all has passed 20 years.

China has carried out four five-year plans for legal dissemination and education since 1986, and this year is the last year of the fourth five-plan period. This was learned from the National Office of Law popularization, according to a People's Daily report on Saturday in Beijing.

So far, the set goals for the education in the fourth five plan have been basically accomplished. In the country, 850 million people have received legal education, accounting for more than 90 per cent of those who should have had the education.
