New-Generation Red Flag Car Passes Safety Test
2001-01-01

A new generation of Red Flag sedan, dubbed "the star of the century," recently passed collision safety tests in a Beijing-based automobile collision testing lab.

Sources with the Red Flag producer, China First Automobile Group (CFAG), said it is China's first-ever collision safety test from both sides on electric safety air bags of domestically made sedans.

The tested Red Flag "Star" sedan was sampled at random.

Technicians conducting the test said that the sampled car dashed into a 100 ton reinforced concrete wall at a speed of 100 kilometers per hour.

Test results showed that the power generated by the momentum was absorbed by the forehead of the car and the safety air bags sprang out timely to keep the two dummy passengers inside the car intact. Other international safety standards have also been met.

The Red Flag "Star" was designed last year by CFAG, based in the capital of northeast China's Jilin Province. China possesses the full intellectual property rights of the new model.
